Wasting time

Wasting time is what most of the blogosphere is. Facebook, Twitter, etc. who cares that you are taking a shit and it’s green. Make sure you have something to say if you post.

Now, that raises the question of whether or not I have something to say. Only the reader can determine that. There may be people out there who think green shit is the paragon of visual consumption. I would disagree. We spew off the cuff without ever considering what it means to say something.

“Evam Ukte” is sanskrit for “That being said.” That being said, something follows. In Buddhist literature, that something is meaningful, is directive toward enlightenment. It is a sacred thing not to be sullied, not to be trifled with. Yet, we, as a culture, spend vast amounts of time talking about 10,000 straw dogs. All the things that distract the consciousness from the possibility of a better way make up the bulk of our dialogue.

This is the challenge. Say one thing. One thing that is not trite, trivial or mundane. Say something from the heart, from the soul. Speak to being deeper, to transcending the immediate gratification of senses. Can you? Can you overcome years of training and indoctrination to say something true and real and not simply regurgitation of what others have told you? What does your soul scream? What does your mind say in the silences where you dare not, can not tread? Can you hear the whispers of desperation? Do you know you are a prisoner? Do you know you are already dead, if you cannot speak an original truth?

It is the primal scream of birth. It is the silent witness of death. What you say in between is who you are. Live a lie, live the truth, it is your choice. It is all in your voice.

  1. Just so you know, if there is something you want to say, send me an email and I will create you an account here and you can post comments to my blogs. The conversation has to continue. Me talking with no one else speaking is a waste of time. Speak, if you want to be heard.
